@cgcookiedough I haven’t read the whole topic, but to me it sounds like that could work if you go for something quite stylized. I mean as far as the whole scene is stylized the same way, that’ll work probably better. Keep it up, this event is a great opportunity to learn, so do I ! Can’t wait to see your scene among others  finished ! 🙂

Is this a good hand?

Changed the camera angle and where the moon was. Does this look better?

@cgcookiedough I’d say for the how far away the characters are the hand is perfectly fine. The camera angle has potential too, though now instead of the moon and the pumpkin you’ll want the group of Indians and the pumpkin, to restore the two thirds balance (if you were going for that anyways).

I was playing with the textures a little. I didn’t do anything too fancy so far. Just solid colors except the world background.

I was doing the clothes, then I realized I could fake some muscle structure. I can have my crappy model with some sweet clothes, and it will look good. I think that will give them more personality too.

Can you even tell that one has clothes and one doesn’t? I’m going to add more details on the clothes if I have time this week. Though, because I only need to change a little bit on the textures, I might work on it next week too. The moon needs a lot of work. I might find a moon texture online, or I might put the holes in myself. I don’t think it will be too hard to fix the moon though.

@cgcookiedough nice scene. As for the clothes I cannot really see it so clearly. But then again at this moment I am at my phone so that could be the issue too. But I really like how the scene is going 🙂

It looks great so far, except it’s too dark; I can’t see it very well.  It is a night scene, though, so don’t make it too bright.  Also, the textures aren’t detailed enough, but I think you just haven’t got to that part yet.  It’s good that you’re thinking of the composition and story; I like it!

@cgcookiedough I agree the scene is a bit dark and hard to see the details you want to show.  The moon would also be casting light, right?

@williamatics Do you think I should try putting in a sun light that’s a bit weak with soft shadows on the other side? I’m going to try to add in grass, if it doesn’t turn out good, I’ll make it be sand. I’m also gonna see if I can figure out how to make the pumpkin texture look better and I’m going to add in a bunch of details on the clothes. Textures have always been kind of hard for me to figure out. I’m sure after I get a subscription to this website, whether it be from the contest or paying for it, my skills will improve immensely.

Decided to take a break from blender for a few days. Let’s see if this improves my efficiency and effectiveness.

Yeah, I’m going to do a different scenario. There’s a few things I have to clean up(my horrible topology). I’m going to think of something I can do with this. While I’m thinking about what to do with this, I’ll be fixing stuff.
