Face selection not working and do I need to complete this exercise with texture paint?

Hello,

While following the video and turning on the Face selection masking for Painting, nothing happens on right click or brush select or box select. I’m using left mouse configuration, I think it is nothing to do with it.

My other question is do I need to complete this exercise in Blender with Texture paint or can I use other application with the UV mapping?

Hey Zoltan, since left click is used to draw the paint, when using left click select you’ll need to Alt left click. Box and circle select should work like normal though, so I’m not sure what’s happening there. But feel free to complete the exercise with whatever software you’d like, as long as you’re painting it and not using image or procedural textures.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you, Alt + left click did the trick, maybe it is an issue with 2.79a.
Will do one with Blender and later one with 3rd party.
