emmision light does not work

hey,

i wonder why i cant get the emission get to work like its doing in the video.
its white but no mather how high i put it , it wont emit light. what can i possible be doing wrong ?

found it: i wanted to continue and then noticed that i should been in cycles, later i noticed when he switched to eevee that i got the same effect 🙂
