Elastic f-curve parameters not doing anything

Hi everyone,

I am preparing my looping pattern project. 

I use an elastic interpolation on a curve controlling the distortion parameter of a texture :

But for some reason, the “Amplitude” parameter does not change the height of my curve. The period parameter is not working either. Any idea why ? 🤔

No, I don’t know why it isn’t working. What is your Node setup? It seems to work fine here:

Node setup : 

The parameter on which i wanted to apply an elastic curve is the distortion of the second wave texture
(the horizontal scrolling has its own linear f-curve)

Oh, I think I know:

You have the second Keyframe of the interpolation selected (80). Try selecting the first and change the Amplitude there…

That is it most likely. Took my a while to get used to the modifiers in the curve, they always disappeared and I had constantly remind myself that I needed to have a desired keyframes selected. You get used to it.

If I remember correctly, most of the modifiers in the graph editor take effect from the keyframe onwards, leaving the anything prior to the selected keyframe unaffected.
So with only start and end keyframes, adding to the end keyframe nothing will happen.
