Edge loop through triangles?

At 1:45 you said if we use ring select + subdivide we can bypass the limitation of the edge loop tool that’s unable to cut through triangles. I tried doing just that on triangles but nothing happens.

Yeah Grzegorz, you missed a few Edges there…Watch this lesson again.

Yes, what Martin means is that you have to select those diagonals edges that split the face into two triangles and then subdivide the edge ring to have the “loop cut” cut through the triangles.
