“…I could add a new chapter about updates to Eevee volumetrics…”
I don’t think it’s something that students can easily adjust some values and get a similar result.
Now, 2.83LTS is end of life next month (June 2022) and the 2.93LTS ‘fixed’ the Eevee Volumetric Shadows…
What I would do (but I’m not an average person, so don’t take this too seriously), is to add a ‘warning’ to only use 2.83 to 2.92 Versions for this and add a Bonus Excercise to get a similar result, using 2.93+…
But I’m not sure how easy it is for Windows or Mac users to have more than one Blender Version at the same time on their Computer…
So, personaly, I wouldn’t retire it, but I also wouldn’t try to update it with some ‘new Eevee Volumetric Shadow corrections’, if that is even possible (and I don’t think so).
Sorry for the messiness of the argument, but I’m trying to get my thought process across and that just isn’t something pretty…
