correct my mistake –

what a dork I am – 

looks like I left the camera and light on from the start so it – so when I select the rocket the camera and light get highlighted as well! 

how can I remover the camera and the light without clearing my rocket?

Select the individual object in the outliner (top right tree), move your mouse cursor back to the viewport, and press X to delete. Your camera/light are probably in your Rocket Asset collection, which is why they highlight when you click the rocket instance.

mmm tried that and of course if I delete the camera it deletes my rocket – yes my camera and light are in with myRocketAssets but I can’t seem to see them in the layers/collection list. 

I  ended up scrapping the whole rocket and making a new one – it turned out much better – plus I am pleased with myself because I did it from memory.

thanks, I will make sure I don’t do that again.
