Control-click issue on laptop with emulate 3-button selected.

How do I create vertices (in the style of control-click) when on a laptop with emulate 3-button mouse and emulate num-pad selected? The control doesn’t appear to cater to that functionality. 

Using touch-pad for my own repetitive stress issues, a mouse is not optimal.

Which version of Blender are you using? In 2.8 it’s been changed to Ctrl Right Click since the change to left click select, and that still works with emulate 3 button mouse enabled.
