      @duerer @artifact @rationalrats
Thank you so much, gentlemen! Your positive feedback really helps to stay motivated for the project.
Was slightly regretting my nature choice because I am pretty new to organic modelling. And having to manage work and the Collab at the same time is challenging.
But at the end this is exactly how it is supposed to be, right?

@spikeyxxx Boss, please get in here and make a statement, what you expect from the flower crew for week 2:

        • Are we going to sculpt or is it painting only?
        • Are we focusing on simplifying the assets due to their relative size? Or are we going all in since we are baking the final result anyways?
        • Vertex-limit for each individual flower?
        • Which flower-type do you prefer? I won’t be able to work this weekend, so I have to focus my attention for this week on one or two assets.
        • Any other info and advice is very welcome (as always)!

Thank you so much for your efforts. Really appreciate your commitment to the project and all members of the team!

Have a look at Kents expectations for the flowers in Daphne’s WIP thread

          https://blog.cgcookie.com/forums/topic/rigs/

          So,

            no sculpting

do try to keep the Vertex count low (using whatever methods you can think of)

work on how to distribute the flowers

the poppy seeds seem a bit overkill to model, but painting them or even just a suggestion of them would be fine

as for the types of flower; look at the artwork and give your own interpretation of what you see, or what you think might fit well in the scene (very vague, I know, but you shouldn’t feel too restricted in your choices)

Just wanted to say that I love your daisy configuration. I think a multi flowerhead flower (or whatever that is called) would fit really nice here:

I’m FINALLY here to give you some feedback @bun-bun! Sorry for the delay – apparently 100+ people takes a while to grade 😅

Your flowers look fantastic. Very well-built and I have no doubt they will populate the ground beautifully. I’ll give you the same direction as the other flower children: Your task will be one of optimization to ensure many flowers can be populated while not burdening the performance of the scene.

Currently I categorize your flowers as “HI poly”. The next step is to optimize them down into LO poly version. I mean really simple geometry, like a dome for flower pedals that gets an alpha-mapped texture. All leaves can be planes with alpha mapped textures or single-sided simple pedal shapes (no thickness, no subsurf). Stems can be 6-sided cylinders or less honestly.

Since these flowers are so small, I recommend omitting sculpted accents.

I have nothing to add to Kent’s suggestions above, but feel free to tag me whenever the low poly versions have been made and I’ll add a grade for week 2. They’re looking really nice so far!
