Take this challenge to use the knowledge from the Materials and Shading , the Digital Lighting and the Texturing courses!! All here on CG Cookie!!

The Challenge: Create a Summer Fun Scene in Blender 😎

With your Summer hat on, and the knowledge you possess under it, create a Fun Summer Scene all your friends would love to be apart of. Your Summer Scene should portray warmth, love and fun. Using color and lighting to give the viewer a feel good feeling reminiscent of the best days of Summer.

Rules 📜

• Use Blender only – No third party software
• Your scene can make use of any resources available on CG Cookie Resources
• Submit your result to the CG Cookie Gallery by August 29th 2021  23:59 US CST
• You are encouraged to create a WIP thread in the community forum for review with the title Summer Fun Challenge 2021 WIP – [Name].

Your WIP thread should consist of progressive images with a short explanation of the process at each stage.
When you post your result in the Gallery, add a link to your WIP in the description so the judges can easily find it.

Why a Challenge 🏆

A challenge rather than a contest because its for you to challenge yourselves and the knowledge you gained from a course to create a masterpiece of your own making. A rules based challenge to maintain consistency and fairness, whilst also maintaining safety to prevent accidents. A challenge to be the best you can be from the knowledge you have today, while striving to be even better tomorrow than you was yesterday. Most importantly, a challenge to have some fun.

How we’ll judge your summer fun scene 🥇🥈🥉🏅

The CG Cookie crew @wesburke , @theluthier  , @jlampel and @waylow will review and pick 4 Summer Fun Scenes – criteria to include the good use of lighting and color to represent Summer, with warmth, love and fun, and WIP thread.

The 4 picks get:-

• Featured across the Gallery for an entire week
• Shared on CG Cookie’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook with the artist’s social media accounts tagged
• 500XP points

Make sure to add your social media handles to your profile.

does the final submission have to be an image or are videos allowed?

Hey @nurkage , you most certainly can animate and upload a video. I would suggest rendering an image of one frame of the animation and upload both when submitting to the gallery and use the image as the cover, to give your work a better quality and representation in the gallery.
