In creating the cartridge slot – around the 49 sec. mark, after hiding the vertices on the top of the cartridge, there’s something showing above that I cannot figure out what is causing it.

      I’m running Blender 3.5.1 on Windows 11.

Update – It appears to be something to do with the bevel modifier display being set to edges. When I changed the bevel modifier from edges to vertices, they disappear. I don’t understand why this is, but I am going to continue on with the lesson.

Not to worry, it’s just how the bevel modifier is displayed. We have debated if it’s a feature or a bug, in the end we don’t know, but it doesn’t do any harm.

              Hey Jim,

              Its not a bug,
It’s the edges created by the bevel modifier displayed in edit mode. This happens when you hide vertices, and those modifier created edges are still visible.
You can turn them off with the display in edit mode option on the modifier.

You will want to have the bevel modifier set to edges, bevelling vertices will have a completely different effect on how your model looks.

                Adrian,

Thanks for that tip – it’s great to know. I’ve only been using Blender for a short while, and while I knew I should not switch Edges to Vertices, I haven’t paid attention to the Edit mode icon you circled – I’ve only been using Realtime and Render icons next to it. Much appreciated!

                Regards,

                Jim
