@dostovel I’m with Aaron – I definitely did not forsee this direction switch. I like it! I appreciate you trying to fit a pirate theme 🙂

The texture makes it feel a little like jade or something similar. That could be a really interesting material. A challenge too with Eevee the Nun.

If you go the jade direction, the emphasis is more on the material than the texture and what you have should work great for the task I think. If you’re not going for jade or another transparent/translucent material but an opaque material instead, the texture could be considered a little plain or generic. I guess in other words, I can’t tell exactly what it’s meant to be by the texture alone. An opinion you can ignore if you’re going for a translucent jade-like material. Does that make sense?

I’m really glad to hear you’re enjoying 2.8 and even giving the Nun a chance! You appear to be getting comfortable pretty quickly ✊

Homework Submission 3

Here is Bob Actually,  the Ninja Turtle Gorilla that guards all your treasure chests.

I guess my goal became to highlight the fact that you can have an average model with average textures and still make it appealing with nice composition and lighting. Hopefully that came through with the final renders.

Rendered real time with Eevee. I gave the nun a chance and I like how incredibly fast it is for trying out your compositions with the immediate response in the viewport. So many finicky settings though. I don’t know, I gave her an opportunity, even though she lied with her internet pictures. Lets say I took her to dinner and I’m like jesus christ can you at least not wear the nun clothes here, and she’s like, don’t you use the name in vain, and I say to myself… oh god dammit… and she freaks out big time and I’m like what? what did I say. So we’re trying to make it work.

Add some extra. Since it’s so easy to change things around, I wanted to see if I could get an underwater look. I don’t really know if it worked out.

Each of your lighting scenarios makes Bob fascinating to look at! This is one of the most effective examples of powerful lighting I’ve ever seen. You’ve really got a knack for lighting, Omar. On that alone you get an A++ from me.

I’m glad that you gave Eevee The Nun a chance. These renders make Eevee look stunning in my opinion 🤩
