Are there any particular reason why you might use blender render over cycles?

From what i have seen most people seem to be using cycles now or sometimes third part rendering systems. It is very rare i see anyone using blender render when i see artist on youtube or in magazines.
are there any particular situations where you might pick blender render over cycles?
