aligning reference images

is it normal to struggle when you’re aligning all the reference images? like making the image orientations and rotations right (as in making sure you’re actually referencing the right part of the image when you’re placing them around the console). That took me soooo long to do, somehow I just kept confusing myself

Yes, if you try to align them perfectly. Reference images never align perfectly. Also when using a single image with multiple reference angles is a little more difficult in my opinion.

Agreed with all the sentiment. When you’re starting to learn something, you’ll usually be much slower, as time progresses and you practice a lot, it’ll become second nature and you wont even realize you’re getting better, but you are, so hang in there, just practice a lot and don’t loose enthusiasm.

Don’t worry, schematics are normally not 100% reliable, most of the time they don’t line up or parts are missing, we work with what we get and we have to adapt.

Five sides is already quite good, as it comes to these kind of reference sheets…often there are only three views…(or just one single image, that we try to make into a 3D model…)

Like Omar said, we have to work with what we get…make educated guesses about what we can’t see…
