      I am trying to select and drag the empty, which appears to be correctly connected to the displacement texture – but I can’t move it! I can select it but it won’t drag! What am I doing wrong?

        I don’t know, maybe you accidentally enabled the Option: ‘Transform > Affect Only > Origins’ in the top right of the 3D Viewport (shortcut CTRL+. )?

          Another thing could be you locked the move transform in the N panel, but I guess you’d remember that if you did. I think it might be as Martin says. And just in case check if you added any constraints to it.

            Hey @erikitect,
            You can’t click and drag the empty.
            Click the empty to select it, then click and drag the blue arrow of the move gizmo.

            If you don’t use the gizmo’s, you will need to press G to move the selected object.
