As for your homework, it turned out wonderfully. I really like how your coins are filled to the brim. Gives a more rich feeling than my 3/4-full version. And your lighting an shading is great. The exotic colors of the wood look really good. Also you made a good choice to significantly de-saturate the floor boards so the chest stands out.
