I click on the add submission button but it says nothing

I have uploaded the model to Sketchfab and then filled the form here to add my submission. But when I press the add submission button I have no messages. Is this normal?

It’s not a problem with Sketchfab but with this web. The model uploads to Sketchfab with no issues. When I fill the form here and press the “Add Submission” button I don’t get any message so I don’t know if I’ve submitted the exercise or not (or how many times).

Ok I see. I’ll tell Wes about the behavior. It surely is confusing, you’d expect like a green checkmark or something along those lines that says it has been submitted. Who doesn’t send and email and immediately goes to the Send window to actually see that it was sent. I guess conformations are reassuring.

@auryn-beorn I have checked for your submission and I can confirm it has not uploaded.
make sure you use the full URL from the address bar of your browser, not the short URL from the share button on Sketchfab.

I’ve been using the full URL all the times. I’ve also tried in a different browser. Firefox and Chromium don’t work so far. Maybe it’s because I’m on Linux?

Update: I’ve tried on a Mac laptop with Safari and same, no message, nothing.

Still I think it’s not a bad idea that you get a prompt so you know if it failed or if it succeed. It’s probably on the to do list, but we’ll mention it to Wes nonetheless.

Okay, this was odd. I observed one thing from the beginning: The word “Saved” over the textbox for comments on the submission. I wrote one letter and it changed to “Unsaved”. I deleted the letter. It kept saying “Unsaved”. Then I submitted and voilà! I got a message saying the submission was done.

Yeah this is funky. The coding guys will surely need to take a look at that. Thanks Auryn, you probably caught one of them little bugs.

@auryn-beorn , confirmed, I now see your submission ready to be graded.

I think the issue is not so much a bug, but the text box that says ‘write something…’ needs, well text.

I will suggest to the dev’s that this could be made a bit clearer.

The comments field doesn’t have an asterisk, that’s why I thought it isn’t necessary to write anything in there. Indeed, when I sent the submission, that field was empty (after typing and deleting). I don’t know, I find it weird 🙂
