Yes, like Danny said, it is most likely a matter of so-called ‘double Vertices’.
The Shortcut is M > Merge > By Distance (it’s faster than going into the Menu and you’ll be using it a lot , so it’s worth learning the shortcut). And to be clear, you need to do that before pulling those Edges up.
