Sorry for the late reply. If you have issues applying scripts or getting your own camera rig to work properly you can also utilize a prefab. The Steam VR package should come with prefabs for the camera rig and some generic VR mechanics. Initially I had issues creating my own VR camera rig as well but the prefabs will usually always work.
