On my keyboard it is without any other keys (no Shift or CTRL…) so it uses ^. Which is neither a Tilde, nor an Accent grave…
I don’t know if that upper left key works on your keyboard…but when I change my keyboard layout to US American; Greek; or even Belgiqn, it still uses the sa,e (upper left) key.
