Yeah! I agree with Omar,
I don’t think PDF’s would be the right option, it may be for you as the teacher, but just like traditional art Blender is a visual thing.
Saying that, there are some awesome books you could consider for a present, Blender for Dummies authored by our very own Jason van Gumster would be a good start.
