‘Logarithmic linear decrease’ (a bit of a weird wording, but okay) can be acchieved by dividing by the same number each step.
Like in dB, each time you reduce the dB by 10 (take a step of magnitude 10 down), you half the volume (divide by 2).
Music was my first encounter with logarithm, I think…It’s not math, it’s music!
