I am confused as to what you mean… where the Gizmo is, doesn’t have to match what you have selected; for instance, when you have the 3D Cursor as Pivot Point, the Gizmo will always be at the 3D Cursor….
However, the Pivot Point is ‘global’, it would be the same at the Layout and Modeling Workspace.
There are different colors for Unselected, Selected and Active, that is how you see if something is Selected or not.
