Hello Jeff. Can you detail that issue a little further? Doesn’t sound like something that should be happening. Perhaps you can post screenshots of the issues so we can pass along to the devs. Also the course is introductory, just the basics to slowly get you clicking away at Blender. Fundamentals and in depth courses come later.
