I totally didn’t think of the animation data. Oops! I guess it can be kept as a “for simpler scenes” kinda of scenario, but that’s about it.
I also totally agree with sticking to common camera and lenses settings, after all that’s what I have to use on my day-to-day. I think the only time I feel like “I wish I could make this fit” is when they ask me for social (vertical) versions when it wasn’t designed or filmed for that at all. The other bit to consider is that it would change the depth of field and that choice is usually dictated by the story we are trying to tell (and that shouldn’t change on a whim). Although most of the time when I’m resizing things for the social team that wouldn’t make a big difference.
