If your asking about following the course with the detail level required then it depends on your CPU.
It’s the CPU that does the calculations, your GPU used is to render and produce the image you see.
But like I say, the CPU does all the heavy lifting behind the scenes trying to stop Blender from crashing.
You GPU will be ok for your display while modeling in solid view, but will struggle when you want to render.
