Hi, I am by no means an expert on facial topology, but is it not common practice to start with loops around the eyes nose and mouth?
Do some tests with CTRL+R to see the different 
edge flows…
Also, a 7-sided pole? ( a few 3- and/or 5-sided poles are unavoidable on a face, but never use 6-sided or more…)You can see the pinching on the subdivided model.
But to be fair: this is not an easy exercise! Keep it up, you’ll get there!
Nice idea with the Shape keys btw, but especially when deforming the mesh, the topology should be good.
