Hi TJ,
I’m going to have a stab in the dark here but here’s some common mishaps.
-If you are animating an armature (ie – bone controls) make sure you are using the motion paths under the armature tab and not the object tab. (the ‘object’ container isn’t moving so the motion paths will be static)
-if you are adjusting things in the viewport, the motion paths will automatically update. However, if you adjust things in the graph editor or anywhere other than the 3d viewport, you will need to update the paths manually. This is an intentional performance design from the developers.
-if you can’t see the motion paths make sure you have overlays enabled for the viewport. If overlays are disabled, motion paths will be hidden.
