Are you sure you’re marking the selected edges as Seams? I frequently set them to “Sharp” instead, accidentally.
If you are ndeed setting them as seams, your UVs won’t change automatically based on seam assignment unless you enable “Live Unwrap”. In which case you will simply need to run the unwrap operation again after marking seams.
