For sound design and especially ADR(recording Voice Actors) I recommend Davinci Resolve. The free version works great for this. It’s a pretty complicated software, but really great. If you’re looking for open source and a more intuitive software then for sound editing I recommend Audacity. For midi, scoring, and sound font I recommend Muse Score. I’m not a big fan of MuseHub so just know you will have to dig a little on the muse Score site to find direct download. Then again you might like MuseHub in which case you can download both audacity and muse Score thru it. If you want a more powerful open source DAW(Digital Audio Workstation) Ardour is good, but it’s cheap, but not free. You can download source code for free and compile it. If you want the installer then it’s around $50 USD if I remember correctly.
