Hey Bob, I’m honestly not sure how it picks a direction on the tangent plane. I played with it for quite some time, but I didn’t see any patterns. I also assumed it would follow the +X and +y normal axes as seen it edit mode, but that isn’t the case like you said. Sorry I can’t help with this one, but if I find an answer I’ll be sure to let you know!
