Thanks. Yeah, unfortunately I lost my ability to work, becoming disabled regarding my eyes and had to retire early after 38 years as a structural detailer. The last 18 were 3D modeling in Tekla Structures. I eventually had to go on social assistance and ended up in hospital due to having my leg amputated where I could no longer live in the home because there’s no way to get a wheelchair in there. The hospital is my home until permanent housing can found and the waiting list is huge, especially with the large amount of immigration the government is bringing in. We don’t have the housing, jobs, economy to sustain the large amount of immigration so that compounds the problem for everyone, including the immigrants. Immigration is good but the way the government is with money, immigration, taxes and spending is ridiculous. Hahaha, here I go again. I am grateful for what I have but the future looks bleak by staying in the system. I want to be able to work again and the best option, maybe I’m dreaming as well, is to become a 3D artist. I have applied at a online school for this coming October where the course load is 40 hours a week minimum a for 64 weeks. This is using the industry standard programs like Maya but I want to keep Blender in my back pocket, the all purpose tool. Will see how things turn out but having the goal is keeping me going. Thanks to CG Cookie and the community, it is a big help.
