Overestimated or not, your fence section looks great @richardyi! This is exactly how I would structure it in the sense of minimal pieces needed to assemble the whole fence. Once the terrain is finished, you can easily assemble the whole thing accordingly. Nice work! You’ve earned full points from me.
One stylistic note I was going to add was that the vertical boards are massive. Way chunkier than any fence I’ve seen. But then I checked the art and sure enough they’re kinda huge. Almost the same size of the door:
