Homework Submission – Week 1 – Flowers
Since I am close to midnight, here are my results for week 1:
I have split my work into three pieces:
- Blossoms (most important)
- Leaves (maybe optional – possibly not visible in the grass)
- Stems (important, but covered by sapling tool / curves)
For now, I have created five blossoms that I feel comfortable sharing:

In addition, I have designed four basic leaves, that can be used to build any flower with some variations of those leaves:

At last some examples I quickly put together to show all pieces together:
(I will build final versions during week 2 after seeing the results of all nature teams.)

Finally, one honorable mention, because I feel like this is my best creation so far, even though it does not fit the art style at all and will not be used in this project:

Please let me know, what you think. I am pretty new to creating organic models and it was a real struggle during the week.
Oh, and don’t worry: I don’t plan to keep this much geometry throughout the project. Planning to bake leaves and blossoms and reduce poly count to something between 50-250 verts for each flower.
Damn, have forgotten to let Kent know … @theluthier
