Hello Kay. Sorry for the inconvenience. It’s not easy to keep up with Blender fast developing cycles. Old courses have timeless knowledge in them, but it’s harder if your are following step by step what you see on screen. What I do is, if I want to follow step by step, I download the Blender version that it’s being used on the video. If I don’t want to deal with an old Blender, then I watch the courses to soak up all the knowledge in them, because everything they do on an old course you can do in today’s Blender, only difference is the buttons are in different places.
There are courses more up to date that you can watch first if you’re having trouble following old courses. Then after you feel comfortable in Blender no matter the version, you can come back to the old courses. No matter their age, they are still available to be watched because in Blender you get to a point where you don’t mind the UI, you care more about concepts and ideas.
So hang in there, we all get frustrated at the beginning, but it gets easier the more you grind. Remember, you can start with more up to date courses first.
