One thing that you might be missing from the video explanation, Fernando, is that the modifier won’t create the vertex group for you. It will only mirror those weights IF the vertex group already exists.
So if you only have an “Ear.L” vertex group, and the “Ear.R” does not exist, it can’t copy the weights into that group.
Maybe that will solve your issue?
