@aaltuvem that’s a great description of how it works, good approach too! If this doesn’t work for the curved shape you could try using proportional editing, don’t know if you know it? If not I could find a video for you which uses that approach to create this kind of a curved surface for an anvil base (but maybe you already know it, it’s from blenderguru). It’s usually faster than the knife tool for this kind of thing and usually gives a more balanced result, better flow in the shape.
