At 12:14 in the asymmetry lesson I explain why I don’t implement asymmetry until after retopology. My apologies for the confusion – it was a risk but I decided that addressing the concept of asymmetry in the first chapter was more fitting with the other head shape concepts. But as far as workflow, it’s definitely better to wait till after retopo so you can maintain symmetry benefits as long as possible.
