Im Jon, I’m 35 and from the UK. I’ve recently joined the community, having previously spent a few years using Cinema 4D as my primary 3D tool. I’d tried to move across to blender in the 2.8 update, and spent a while going through various tutorials on youtube, though with varying success (always ended up going back to Cinema 4D when I needed to do something fast).
I’ve just got myself a new job working with 3D again (after taking a break from it) and decided now would be a good time to focus my efforts on really learning and adopting blender as my primary modelling software. CGCookie seemed a great place to further my knowledge of 3D in general (this stagnated a bit, and I wanted to learn some more advanced techniques – such as what’s demonstrated in the HUMAN and Pot Head courses). I’m gradually bringing myself up to speed with the beginner stuff first, so hope to progress on to those in the coming weeks.
I’m a bit of a generalist – I love modelling and texturing, but i’m also keen to explore more animation and rigging concepts, and work more on my lighting & rendering.
Some of the previous work I’ve done:
A take on the famous Futurama head tank. Made with Blender, C4D and Substance Painter.
Wallet (modelled in C4D & Textured in Substance Painter)
High Res sculpt (using C4D for base mesh and Nomad for sculpt)
