      hello.

      i just downloaded the latest blender but when i open my project i working on i cannot open this in the new one :s how can i fix this ? also if i managed to open the project i work on in the new version how can i merge 2 files into one ?

        Hi there, I can still open Blender 2.4 files in Blender 2.79, so I don’t think the version number is the culprit unless you have a crazy rig setup. Do you have a screenshot of what’s happening? If it just won’t open, you could also try appending all the objects into a new file.

          i dont yet have a rigging setup just working on a model. when i onpen blender 2.79 and look for my older file i dont get to see it in the map (it looks like the map is empty)

            if I understand what you are saying, you are looking for Blender to have your old file in the recently opened list…

            getting a new version of Blender does not always mean this will happen…

            if this is the problem might I recommend that you go to File/Open and then

            1. choose the drive your old files are on

            2. the folder they are in 

            3 the file itself…

              still i am not able to do it.
              this is what i get and where its located (at the side (left) on my desktop ) you see the map that the model is in but when i search it on my new blender that is installed he shows its empty 🙁 also for some reason yesterday my computer crashed during the rendering (i believe windows started updating since after i rebooted it because of 3 hours black screen i got 2 hours long windows that started to update) and today again i rendered the model in older blender file but after the second render blender stopped working and i could not close it.
              so i dont know if the problem is been caused because its still opening in older blender file while i have the new blender now on my computer

                also this is what i get when i open my file of lyra model i work on (been working on this model for over a year so i really want to finish it completly

                does anyone also know how i can test whenever this file is too heavy for my GPU or not ?
                since this is the second time i had the crash 🙁
