    Hey Martin @mastart ,

    Just in case I won’t be able to make it to the stream:

    Euler has proven a formula for making a (topological) sphere out of regular polygons and this makes it clear, that we cannot cover a sphere with regular hexagons and above hexagons is also impossible due to the angles getting too large…

    So the best golfball with equal round dents would be based of a dodecahedron and have only 12 dents.

    You could however make a ‘sphere’ out of not completely regular hexagons and then make dents on all the Vertices (or on all the Faces) by Booleaning small spheres…and the more hexagons you’d use, the closer to regular hexagons they could be.

    You could start like in the image and then duplicating and rotating around a sphere and then Merging By Distance. Maybe there’s a better way to construct something like that…

    But, of course, you wouldn’t end up with a realistic golfball, like I mentioned above.
