Why do the Bevel and Inset tools not remember the last used settings?

Was this removed in newer versions of Blender? Or is it a bug? It’s the same in 2.79a and 2.79.4 (latest build, my preferred version). Thanks.

This one is interesting, apparently it only remembers if you type them in manually after already confirming the action.
