What’s the difference between deleting Edge Loops and Dissolving them?

In both cases you need to select the whole Edge Loop and I always get the same results from both of them

In that case, nothing! But if the loop doesn’t go all the way around, deleting an edge loop will result in triangles and dissolving it will end in an n-gon.
