When creating the quad-arrow custom bone shape I didn’t get the same behavior as the course lesson demonstrates in regards to snapping to the surface of the sphere. The verticies all stayed on the same plane until I enabled “Project individual elements on the surface of other objects” on the right side of the snapping controls. I see it isn’t enabled in the video but you get the behavior anyway so I am curious as to why that is the case.

It appears enabled to me in the video. It would have to be in order to work..

Looking over the video again, I see it is enabled but the color scheme makes it hard to tell.

This wasn’t clear to me so I’ll explain further, Above the timeline you’ll find the vertex, edge and face selection modes, to the right of this you have two options that you skip, then you get to snapping options, in order to be able to snap to surface you have to select Face as the type of element to snap to, and then the option should appear as a ball with a dotted square on the right, then go to forward ortho and press G and left click and it will instantly have snapped into the correct position.
