I’m having trouble with my custom shape. It is large like you show here, but it is not positioned even close to the source? bone. I see no obvious settings to orient it properly. Any suggestions?

I find custom bone shape orientation to be one of the more difficult concepts to grasp/teach. Basically, your custom shape origin has to match the origin of your bone, along with the orientation of the bone. Try enabling “axis” display on the control and your bone to guide your orientating process.

Thank you. I will retry with that.

Hey Scott you can check out Darrin Lile and his rigging tutorials FB or YouTube. He teaches this fundamental like cake. However, he does admit that this is one of the quirks in Blender that needs much help. I wouldn’t have been able to do this lesson without Darrin Lile’s teaching. Cheers
