When using the stencil mode of a textured brush, can you control the opacity with which the stencil image displays over the model? I have an image that just sort of overpowers the model beneath it and makes it very hard to see the geometry, let alone the affect of painting the texture over it.

In your tool panel, click the “options” tab and in the Overlay section find the Texture slider. That’s where you control the opacity of the stencil overlay.
