Very basic question on using the Subdivision Surface Modifier. In the instructional video, for flows and sculpting it shows that a level of 7 can be chosen, but in in my Blender i am limited to an upper selection of 6. Is their an an adjustment I must make in preferences to allow this?

The only options I know of for limiting subdivision is in Scene Properties > Simplify. The default there should be set to 6 but that doesn’t mean you still can’t make the modifier above 6. It just won’t display/render above what you set in the Simplify settings.

I seem to have the same limitation as well. I wonder if this is hardware related?

I discovered my source of confusion. I cannot use the little arrows to increase beyond 6, but I am able to type in a value of 7. Problem solved!
