Compositing is incredibly powerful indeed. It’s especially useful for VFX work: Adding CG effects to camera footage. We used to have a couple tutorials by Sean Kennedy (pro compositor with a laundry list of IMBD credits) but we seem to have removed them due to age. I recommend checking into his website for occasional compositing tutorials and tips.
Of course we would love to flesh out more about compositing on CGC in the future (assuming the demand is there). In which case we’d twist Sean’s arm to develop the curriculum 😅
