Welcome to the class @abaz! Your sign looks great. For being an extreme beginner, you should be proud of your model. I only have 2 notes to offer:

• Fix faceting by smoothing normals and hardening specific edges. There’s one spot in particular that has a lot of faceting:
  I recommend following this part of the treasure chest course that shows how to smooth these facets while maintaining hard edges where desired.
• Vertical posts are plain. It would be great if you added bevels, wood splits, and un-straightened the edges to match the horizontal planks.

Overall this is great work for being a beginner! It’s a B+ in my book. Keep it up! 👍

As for the UI weirdness, you could try “resetting” you Blender UI by:

• Saving your file
• Loading a new (blank) blender scene with File > New > General
• Then open the scene you saved but unchecking the “Load UI” option in the bottom left of the file browser:
  
  The idea is to load your scene within a fresh default Blender UI.
