@burnarakiss Sweet tarnation! THAT is a homework post if I’ve ever seen one. I feel like this project grabbed a hold of you mind and wouldn’t let you go till you accomplished it. For the scope, effort, and level of sharing I have to give you an A++. You went ALL OUT this week, that much is certain.
There’s so much going on that honestly it’s tricky to critique. But when you create such a full-scope scene, that also means there’s a lot to get right and not quite right. I’ll try to keep my notes short and to-the-point:
- Overall the image is a bit dark which makes it difficult to read exactly what’s happening. Sine so much is happening (traveler sleeping, horse drinking water, campfire, sunrise peaking over the hill) a bit more light would help the viewer connect the dots more effectively.
- Sunrise / sunlight would benefit from a warmer tone. Something like this perhaps:

- The fire is a great touch but the shape could use some work. It quickly doesn’t look natural the more the viewer studies it.
- The puddle bump map makes it feel more like a miniature pond rather than a puddle. Typically puddles are very flat glassy surfaces:

- The landscape silhouette feels unnatrually round and prominent. Making that more organic would be more believable imo:

I hope those help. You really put a lot of effort into this and it shows. Keep telling visual stories like this! 👏
